My name is Tara Lynn Connelly, and I'm a visual designer with a passion for user experience.
Raised in the rural town of Warwick, NY, my fascination with computers began at a young age. When I was ten years old I taught myself HTML and Photoshop. I used these skills throughout high school, and was drawn to the idea of a creative career.
I received my BFA in Graphic Design from Purchase College, a small liberal arts school known for its creative and performing arts programs. In my last semester, I began an internship at Studio K&M, a boutique graphic and web design firm in Brooklyn, NY. Upon graduating I began working there full time, where I gained hands on experience with each step of the user experience process, from information architecture to implementation.
I then moved to Boston, MA to begin working in the marketing department at Buildium, a property management SaaS startup. Over the course of three years I applied my design and user experience skills to a variety of projects and managed the design staff on my team.
I returned to my home state to start working at Switch, a job search and hiring app based in NYC, where I became the company's creative lead: designing their products and marketing materials.
I am now working as a freelance designer and seeking new clients. Contact me if you're interested in working with me.
When I need a break from staring at screens, you can usually find me exploring the great outdoors. I'm also the proud mother of a cat and two rabbits. Sometimes I combine these two passions and take my leash trained cat on a walk.
